PATIENT- AND CARER-CENTRED SERVICES

The NIHR Service Delivery and Organisation (SDO) Programme improves health outcomes for people by: commissioning research and producing research evidence that improves practice in relation to the organisation and delivery of health care; and building capacity to carry out research amongst those who manage, organise and deliver services and to improve their understanding of research literature and how to use research evidence.

The SDO Programme continues to commission research on service delivery and organisation issues in national priority areas. One of these areas is research related to neurological rehabilitation. 

Ref: NR249 - The organisation, management and delivery of specialist neurological rehabilitation; 
a maximum of £1.2 million is available over three years for research in this area. Projects of up to three years' duration may be funded up to a maximum of £450,000 per project and it is likely that up to three empirical research projects will be funded. Projects are expected to start in September 2008. The application process will be in one stage, with full proposals being invited.

Applicants are asked to submit full proposals for the above call by  ***Thursday 1 May 2008 at 1.00 pm.***

APPLICATION PROCESS

All applicants must submit proposals online using the SDO electronic Commissioning and Appraisal System (eCAS) which can be accessed via the SDO website: www.sdo.lshtm.ac.uk/ecashome.html

Further guidance regarding online submission is available on the eCAS website using the help guidance on each page. You will need to register with eCAS pre-submission. All applicants are advised to familiarise themselves with eCAS before the deadline for proposals.
